Pastor Alex Tarasov was born and raise in the former Soviet Union in an atheistic society. As a teenager, God dramatically changed his life through the Jesus Film, leading him to faith in Christ and a call to ministry. Alex has served in ministry for more than 30 years, including with Campus Crusade for Christ, as an associate pastor and Bible college director in Kyiv, as a member of the National Leadership Team for Operation Christmas Child in Ukraine, and as the founding and senior pastor of Vertical Bible Church in Kyiv, Ukraine. After leading churches and training Christian leaders in Ukraine for many years, Alex relocated to the United States in 2025 and now serves at Anchor Church, helping develop Slavic ministry outreach. Alex holds master's degrees in Engineering, Divinity, Biblical Studies, and Public Administration. He and his wife Anya have two children Masha and Sviat.
